Profile Summary

Dr Prokopiou is an active dedicated and pleasant medical professional who specialises in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is Assistant Professor on Medical Ethics and Law at St. George’s Medical School at the University of Nicosia. He has been involved in Biomedical Ethics since 1986. He is an active member of the academic team and he presented a lot of scientific in several conferences and clinical seminars.Dr Prokopiou’s area of clinical, academic, research and professional interests are: 

  • End of life issues (reducing pain and suffering, palliative care; Advance directives etc.). 
  • Pain control / Palliative Care Ethics. 
  • Medical and dental ethics. 
  • Preventing medical and dental errors. 
  • Research ethics.

He is acting as a consultant and advisor on medical-legal and dental-legal cases. Dr Prokopiou is also considered as an expert in the field of Dental Ethics. Generally he demonstrates a long and proven ability to assess and investigate patient’s symptoms which lead to making appropriate decisions thus choosing the most suitable treatment. He is a scientist who keeps abreast of the most recent clinical studies (medical and dental) and developments so that he can provide medical services of the most recent technologies in his field.
